Director of SITECH
Prof. Dr. E. G. Rajan is the Director of the Sagar Institute of Technology. He is an Electronics Engineer and a Professor of Signal Processing having about 35 years of experience in teaching, research and administration. He has a number of publications to his credit. He is a professional member of ACM and he is an editor of the journal of AMSE, Barcelona, Spain.
He received his Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, (Signal and Image Processing), from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, U.P., M.E. degree in Applied Electronics, from Madras University, the then famous DMIT in Electronics Engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet, Madras and B.Sc degree in Physics from Madras University.
His contribution to the state-of-the-art of Electronic Warfare ad Support Measures has been well recognized by the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India and industrial sectors (DRDO). He was a noted teacher in the department of Electrical Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He received Distinguished Scientist and Man of the Millennium Award from Who is Who Bibliographical Records, Cambridge, 2000. Anna University, Coimbatore is in the process of honouring him as its Distinguished Professor of Excellence in Research. He was twice invited by the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lexington to participate in the Space Surveillance workshop and address the peer group working on Military Electronic Systems. He offered short term courses and workshops in Florida State University, Tallahassee, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, PENN State University, State College, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge and University of South Western Louisiana La Fayette. He authored many books like, Symbolic Computing – Signal and Image Processing, Electronic Order of Battle Records of Military Radars, and Computers and Information Technology. He has originated a novel paradigm Symbolic Computing In the Framework of Markov’s Constructive Mathematical Logic and patentable concepts in Genomic Signal Processing, Molecular Computing, Codon Space, Deductive Theory of Space, Time and Consciousness, Rajan Transform, Multi Valued Logic, (2n+1)-ary Discrete Logic and Algebras, Constructive Sets ad Function Spaces, Celular Logic Array Processing, to name a few. He has guided more than 25 PhD students and 30 M.Tech students. He has published a number of research papers in noted journals like IEEE, Pergamon, and IJSCI.
To outline his administrative career, he has been commanding special mission flights as an integral part of Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and taken active part in the formulation of various national security policies. He was involved in the formulation of specialized courses for Door Darshan in IIT Kanpur and M.Tech curriculum for DAIICT, Gandhi Nagar. He is Honorary Director of Rajiv Gandhi International School of Information Technology of the MG-NIRSA, Hyderabad and a Board Member in the Computer Science Department of the University of Mysore. He is the advisory committee member of the ICFAI School of Information Technology, Hyderabad and the Monadic University, Uttar Pradesh. He holds the position of Honorary Chairman, Pentagram Group of Companies, and an MNC in India.
To outline his involvement in SITECH, he leads the entire team of SITECH in the capacity of a full time Director with a commitment and determination to make it a model institution which would excel in academics and research with a seamless blend of entrepreneurship and social commitment.
Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan is associated with SITECH
Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan is a Professor of the School of Computing and Informatics, Deputy Vice President of Research and Economic Affairs of the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Affairs. Dr. Panchanathan is responsible for conceptualizing, promoting and implementing strategic research initiatives at Arizona State University (ASU). He is a foundation chair in Computing and Informatics in the School of Computing and Informatics and the director of the Research Center for Cognitive Ubiquitous Computing (CubiC) at ASU. He is also an associate professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix in partnership with ASU, and an affiliate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Panch’s research interests are in the areas of Human-centered Multimedia Computing; Content-based and Compressed Domain Indexing and Retrieval of Images and Video; Multimedia Communication; Face/Gait Analysis and Recognition; Haptic User Interfaces; Confidence Measures for Medical Decisions; Medical Image Processing; Genomic Signal Processing; Media Processor Designs and Ubiquitous Computing Environments for Individuals with Disabilities.
Panch has published over 300 papers in refereed journals and conferences and has mentored over 100 graduate students, post-docs, research engineers and research scientists who occupy leading positions in academia and industry. He was a member of the Electronic Health Steering Committee appointed by the Governor of Arizona. He is the editor-in-chief of IEEE Multimedia Magazine and associate editor of seven other journals. He is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE).
He is a Visiting Professor of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and the department of Computer Science and Engineering of Sagar Institute of Technology.
Profile of DR.P.G.Reddy
Dr. P. G. Reddy, Former Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), SRC, Government of India (May 1994 to May 1997) and Former Professor of Computer Science of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and Dean of Computer Science of the University of Hyderabad, is now the Chairman of the Academic Council of Sagar Institute of Technology Chevella, Hyderabad.
Professor Reddy was appointed as the Chairman of a High-level Team by the Minister of Human Resources Development, Government of India for the period December 1991 – February 1992 to re-orient the computer education in the country with a view of increasing software exports. He is a Commonwealth computer expert - seconded to NUST, Computer Science Department, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe from September 1996 till date. He was also the Chairman, NUST Senate Committee on Income Generation for the University, Report submitted in July 1999. Dr. Reddy assumed charge as Coordinator, TRINET COMMUNICATION PROJECT funded by EUROPEAN COMMISSION, BRUSSELS from December 1998 to July 2001. He is also Technical Advisor for Establishing Engineering and Medical Education at Namibia with the assistance of Government of India.
